The scenario, facilities, and role players are very realistic and provide a great oppourtunity to practice media engagement skills in a training environment. The feedback that the instructors, interviewers, and fellow students provided was constructive and relevant, and because they reviewed my performance after each interview, I was able to apply lessons throughout the training. Especially useful for me, was the remote camera interview, during which I was interviewed by a remote reporter, and was forced to focus on and speak only to a camera. This was a challenging format, because I could not read the eyes or non-verbal expressions of the interviewer, and it took some getting used to. The end result of Advanced Media Training is that I feel much better prepared to conduct media engagments in any format, regarding any topic. Read the scenario carefully, develop your talking points, and give it real effort, and you will certainly improve your skills in media engagement!”

Maj Landry makes some good points about the remote interview process….most communication’s non-verbal so not having the benefit of actually seeing the person you’re talking to can be quite unnerving without practice
